Since the deities are believed to be present in an invisible form in the atmosphere on Rang Panchami, devotees joyfully throw vibrant Gulal upward into the sky as a gesture of playing Holi directly with the Gods.

One is based on the Solar Calendar (September 17, Kanya Sankranti), popular in Bengal and Eastern India. The other is based on the Lunar Calendar (Magha Shukla Trayodashi), mentioned in scriptures as his birth Tithi. Both are auspicious.

Generally, it is advised that a Manglik should marry another Manglik. However, an exception exists: if the Non-Manglik partner has a strong malefic planet (like Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, or Sun) in the exact same house where Mars is sitting in the Manglik's chart, the dosha is neutralized, and they can marry.
